5th Avenue Bars - 18 Pack

     A crunchy, satisfying peanut butter center smothered in a velvety milk chocolate coating. It's a similar treat to the Butterfinger bar!

     This old-fashioned candy bar came to be in 1936. The creator of this bar is William H. Luden, also the maker of the famous "Luden's Cough Drops." The 5th Avenue Chocolate Bar used to be adorned with two chocolate-covered almond halves on top but has since omitted them.

     The true reason for it being called 5th Avenue is lost in candy history. Many people speculate that Mr. Luden named his Chocolate Bar 5th Avenue so it would be associated with the elegance and wealth of the famous street 5th Avenue in New York City.
    
      However, some people believe that he named this chocolate bar after 5th Avenue street in Reading, Pennsylvania, where his beloved mother's kitchen was located and where he apparently first started out in the candy business. As glamorous as New York's 5th Avenue is, we choose to believe that he graciously named it after his humble beginnings in Pennsylvania.

     Whatever the case, or the name, whether you're strolling down 5th Avenue or not, this retro chocolate bar will exceed all your chocolate peanut butter candy bar expectations!
